The Department of Philosophy has a summer program to help students grapple with the important questions of life:
The students and instructors create a residential living-learning community in rural southwestern Minnesota. Participants in these courses, Lives Worth Living: Questions of Self, Vocation and Community and Catching Lives Worth Living: Participation in the Growth of a Living-Learning Community, develop a sense of self, a sense of vocation and a sense of what is important in their communities and in the world.
This type of in-depth reflection is so important in a world that is spinning so fast that it is sometimes difficult to find time to fully understand your place in the world. Studying philosophical questions gives us the ability to think critically and consistently, to understand varying points of view, to lead.
Your generous support of Philosophy Camp will provide scholarship support to students who, because of financial barriers, would find it difficult to participate in this type of extended learning experience. Your gift will also broaden the diversity of life experiences, cultures, and traditions for all participants in the program.
